New streaming companion app.

Hi all

We’ve recently released a streaming companion app, available from menu on the left.

It’s a useful tool for checking the various functions available through the streaming API, such as live prices, account P&L etc.

It’s quite straightforward to use but if you have any questions, post in this thread.

Is there an issue with the messages box?

Hi Chris

I've been trying the new streaming companion which is very useful. Seems to me that the message box gets broken though anytime one clicks unsubscribe - in that subscribing again to any other channel seems not to update visibly in the message box. I wonder if you can replicate this behaviour.

Hi Neil

Welcome to the Labs Community.

You're right, there seems to be an issue with the Unsubscribe button - thanks for letting us know. We're taking a look at it now, and I'll update you here once I have more news.

In the meantime, avoid using Unsubscribe and instead just subscribe where needed. Restarting the browser will reset all subscriptions if you have too many.

Is it possible to show the actual http messages sent?

Hi Chris

Thanks, good to know that closing the browser is sufficient to close the subscriptions.

Looking again at the streaming companion, it would be very useful to also see the actual http messages sent and received. Is this possible perhaps?

Best regards
Neil

Hi Neil,

The underlying is a proprietary protocol, not HTTP, so unfortunately this wouldn't be feasible.

Cheers,
Chris
